Over the Garden Wall is a show I have watched recently. I had it saved for around a year long and had planned to watch it in the Fall as it was hyped to be a fall show. After completing this show, I was shocked to see there was not more episodes. From the music scores, storylines, characters, moral lessons, coloring, and animation, the show became an all time favorite of mine. I know this show holds a special place in many people’s hearts as well. One thing that made me internally scream every time I saw it were the title cards. It was so creative and added so much to the show. The graphic design and colors used for them made me want to grab through the screen and eat them up. They looked sooo fall coded. I liked how the title cards introduces each episode as well, a dying practice in shows now adays.
As someone that relishes in the creation of title cards or any type of text addition into video, this was enjoyable to see. I will be creating my own versions of their title cards to show step by step how I would add an “Over the Garden Wall” inspired title card to my own projects.
I used Canva for these but you can create these on a variety of other sites. Now create your own! These are very easy steps and won’t take long to add to your videos. Editing is hard enough, but I find that taking a break to work on graphic design cards can be so fun and provide a much needed break.
