Fading and gradient practice.
Learning how to perpetually fade one picture into another was the point. The pictures side by side along the gray in the back already had a homey feel, but the side by side fade should give off a more modern feel. Focusing on Melissa’s smiling facial expression was also intentional, as to how successful that has been studied to be on YouTube recently.
Followed the rule of thirds to form the compositing. The organization of it all also subtly advertises the feel of watching her videos. 6 out of 9 points emphasize the salmon itself while 3 out of 9 focus on the cook so viewers can attach these videos to a face.
