How To Transport A Cake in Indianapolis Without Ruining it

You ordered the perfect cake from Sweetie’s Bakery. Creamy buttercream, sprinkles, maybe a cute topper. But how do you get it to your party in one piece? Or hey, maybe it’s just for you, no judgments! We got you.

Transporting a cake can already be stressful as it is, and if you live in Indy you know traffic and constant construction doesn’t make it easier.  Here’s how to get your cake home safely from our north side bakery.

Plan Your Route

If you’re driving near Keystone or 465 during rush hour, leave early or take a calmer back road. Stop-and-go traffic is a frosting’s worst enemy.

Lay it, Don’t Slide it!

Cakes belong on a flat surface, think the floor’s passenger seat as you can keep an eye on it. Never the passenger seat itself as that can lead to disaster.

Bring a Cake Buddy

We highly recommend driving with someone as the driver can focus on the road, and the designated “cake watcher” keeps an eye on the cake.

Keep it Chilly!

Keep the AC going, the least thing you want is the buttercream melting before the candles are on it.

Skip the Stress

Sweetie’s offers delivery across Indianapolis from our north side bakery. We’ll handle it.

Get to know Sweetie’s Bakery

Sweetie’s isn’t just about cakes, it’s about community. Owners Carmen and Chris are working hard to have the new north side Indianapolis bakery ready for its big grand opening next month.

But here’s something you won’t see on the menu: with every cake sold, a portion of the proceeds goes directly to efforts to end human trafficking in Indiana.

So when you pick up your cake, whether you drive it home safely yourself or let us deliver it, you’re not just celebrating your own milestone. You’re helping bring hope to others in our community.
