I started watching Vanderpump Rules because of Love Island and the infamous #Scandoval, and now eight seasons later, I’m still hooked. From chaotic meltdowns to messy relationships, here’s why I can’t stop watching and why I can’t wait for season ten.

I started watching Vanderpump Rules because I was a Love Island fan. Everyone kept talking about Ariana and how she chewed out her ex on national television. #Scandoval was everywhere. I was intrigued, there was no way I wasn’t going to dive down that rabbit hole. I needed to see it unfold. That’s the scandal where Tom Sandoval cheated on his longtime girlfriend, Ariana (left), with Raquel (right), a mutual friend of both of them who had been on the show for several seasons. IKR WTF?! Fast forward eight seasons later, and we haven’t even made it there yet.

Part of me wonders why I’m still watching, but this show is like a car wreck: I cannot take my eyes off it. Every argument, every meltdown, every ridiculous scheme, it’s pure genius I must admit. Plus, I wanted the satisfaction of really learning these characters, seeing them grow (or not), so that when #Scandoval finally explodes in season ten, I can fully bathe in the chaos of Tom Sandoval ruining his relationship and career.

This season they introduced a few new cast members who work at SUR. Do I really care about them? Honestly, no. I skip a lot of their scenes because I’m here for the OG cast. Don’t get me wrong, they definitely add something, but it’s not the same level of comfort and chaos that I have with the people I’ve been watching from the start. Watching the familiar cast bicker, cry, and reconcile is the real addictive magic. Katie remains a favorite, Schwartz continues to frustrate me, and Kristen… bless her heart. Every character is messy, flawed, and somehow addictive. This show is wild, dramatic, and completely human and I can’t stop watching.

Meanwhile, Brittany and Jax got married, and wow… disaster waiting to happen. I’M SORRY but Jax keeps saying he wants to be a better man for his father (RIP), but I’m not seeing the evidence yet. I think he’s jumping the gun by claiming he’s changed. Time will tell and we will see for ourselves if he has changed his narcissistic ways or if he just wasted Brittany’s time (again). And Scheana… I think she’s really crying out for someone to care about her, and honestly, that makes me pity her. She craves attention, but you can’t fully blame her, it’s just part of the chaos that makes this show so addictive.

I cannot wait to get to season ten, because apparently Katie and Schwartz finally get a divorce. The breakup I’ve been waiting for since season two. I am ready. And yes, that means we’re inching closer to the infamous #Scandoval chaos I’ve been waiting to witness unfold. I am so ready for the drama, the tears, the mean comments, and the absolute madness that’s sure to follow. Until then, I’ll just sip my Pinot Grigio (shout out Stassi), watch these people lose their minds, and simultaneously lose mine.

  1. This felt like a FaceTime call. Very informative with a side of mess to keep me wanting to read more. I have personally never heard of this show despite it having so many seasons but now I can’t wait to get home, get some popcorn and turn it on. This was honestly a great read and the publisher did amazing. 10/10.
