
For this project, I took heavy inspiration from popular shoe brands like Nike, Sketchers, and Adidas. I looked at what sort of posts they made for their new shoe collections and decided to follow the same formula. First, I created a gradient background. Then, I found a adobe stock photo of a shoe, selected the subject, and learned how to create a shadow by changing the shape of my brush. In the top, I used the a cursive, hand-written font to spell out “New Arrivals” and then added “New Gen” on the bottom. I felt like New Gen speaks to the teens and young adult target audience while also insinuating a new generation of designs. I found a really, funky font called “Good Times” for the brand name, Maguffin, and then brainstormed a tagline, “Made for Play. Made for All.” For the webpage banner, I wanted to implement a stock photo of actual young adults that were in a sport/play scene. I didn’t have a space to put down text so I had to use generative AI expand. I also had to play with the brightness/contrast of that spot so that the words were more readable. My one worry is that there is too much of a disconnect between the Instagram Ad and the banner. To tie them together, I used the same fonts and incorporate the blue that is all over the insta ad. All in all, I am pretty proud of what I created and would not hesitate to post this on my own socials.
